A busy calendar of events to present 19 projects &#8211; involving several Marche companies (including Ariston and Fileni, ed.) together with the academic world &#8211; and to promote the <strong>territory&#8217;s &#8220;know-how.&#8221;<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with the<strong>University of Camerino<\/strong>, Simonelli Group presented its experience and contribution in terms of <strong>technology<\/strong> and <strong>innovation in the<\/strong> coffee industry <strong>supply chain<\/strong> (this link <strong><a>Technology and Innovation in the Coffee chain &#8211; YouTube<\/a><\/strong> to review the company&#8217;s talk at Dubai Expo). &#8220;The ability to innovate, among other things also awarded a few weeks ago with the<strong>Industrial Excellence Award 2021<\/strong> for Italy and a finalist for Europe,&#8221; said <strong>Fabio Ceccarani<\/strong>, Simonelli Group CEO, &#8220;comes from a company that is organized precisely to innovate in a sustainable way from a <strong>product<\/strong>, <strong>platform<\/strong> and <strong>proximity<\/strong>point of view. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The drivers of our R&#038;D,&#8221; Ceccarani continues, &#8220;are basically three: to improve the <strong>extraction performance of machines<\/strong> through the extensive use of emerging technologies; to cut down <strong>energy consumption<\/strong>, which accounts for more than 90 percent of the environmental impact of all coffee machines; and to improve the<strong> user experience<\/strong>, through simplifying human-machine interaction and paying attention to the<strong>ergonomics<\/strong> and <strong>aesthetic design<\/strong> of our products.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve these goals, <strong>Simonelli Group<\/strong> has created a dense <strong>network of relationships<\/strong> with universities, research centers, suppliers and local institutions (several research projects have been carried out thanks to European funds made available by the Marche Region, ed.) that &#8220;has enabled us to offer the market innovative espresso extraction solutions that reduce environmental impact.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong> Sustainability<\/strong> also passes through territorial development: &#8220;In collaboration with the University of Camerino,&#8221; Ceccarani continues, &#8220;we have established the <strong><em>Research and Innovation Coffee Hub<\/em><\/strong>, a scientific research hub that involves <strong>5 doctoral students<\/strong> in different thematic areas and has the primary objective of increasing <strong>knowledge about coffee<\/strong> and lays the foundation for the development of new technologies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another line of direction for Simonelli Group R&#038;D is the introduction of <strong>digital technologies<\/strong> that enable coffee machines to become intelligent and to dialogue with the surrounding system. &#8220;Today, more than ever, it is necessary to propose itself on the market with a<strong>system offer<\/strong>, made up of connected machines and digital services that can help baristas, technical assistance and business owners to monitor and improve performance, and to make timely and informed decisions.
