At the final European event held on January 27, Simonelli Group presented, along with the other finalists, how the company develops and innovates its <strong>top-down<\/strong> and<strong> bottom-up<\/strong> <strong>operational strategies<\/strong> and how it uses <strong>digitalization<\/strong> to transform the value chain. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Why did Simonelli Group win Industrial Excellence Award Italy 2021?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SDA Bocconi School of Management<\/strong>, academic partner of the<strong><a>Industrial Excellence Award<\/a><\/strong>since 2016, has selected <strong>Simonelli Group<\/strong> as a company capable of representing the Italian business fabric, which is characterized by the presence of <strong>small and medium-sized enterprises<\/strong>. &#8220;The company, which is not located in the industrial centers of northern Italy, but has its headquarters and production plant in a <strong>small town in the Marche region<\/strong>,&#8221; said <strong>Prof. Alberto Grando<\/strong>, SDA Professor of Production and Technology, University L. Bocconi and academic co-director of the award for Italy &#8211; is an important example of how the market analysis and strategy adopted since the 1970s have allowed the business to grow and create a <strong>strong positioning<\/strong> starting from foreign countries (in fact, in Italy there was already high competitiveness in those years, with many players already structured, ed.) Now the company has a <strong>strong international presence<\/strong> and is a reference point for <strong>research and technological innovation<\/strong>, <strong>environmental sustainability<\/strong> and <strong>design<\/strong>. Efficient and effective management of processes and<strong>investment in people<\/strong> and careful organization have fostered <strong>significant growth in revenues<\/strong> (from 19 million euros in 2009 to 115 million euros in 2021). The values of profitability and customer loyalty have been remarkable even now in times of the COVID pandemic.&#8221;   <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The<strong>Industrial Excellence Award<\/strong> is a great initiative for those companies and managers who are not satisfied with the status quoCOPY00 instead they always look outside their boundaries and comfort zone to always achieve<strong>excellence<\/strong>&#8220;-specified <strong>Francesco Gallmann<\/strong>, Senior Lecturer of the Production and Technology Unit at SDA Bocconi and academic co-director of the award for Italy. &#8220;Simonelli Group is an example of this: a <strong>customer-oriented<\/strong> and extremely<strong> flexible<\/strong> <strong>production process<\/strong> capable of responding quickly to demand even in the pandemic period in which, contrary to all forecasts, the company presented a <strong>series of improvements<\/strong> from the point of view of <strong>energy consumption<\/strong>,<strong> CO2 emissions<\/strong>, <strong>quality<\/strong>, <strong>flexibility<\/strong> and <strong>digitalization<\/strong> of its products and services.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>At the end of the European event, won by Henkel, participants made very positive comments about Simonelli Group as a company able to listen and be close to the market and make a strong contribution to the <strong>growth of the coffee industry<\/strong>. &#8220;Comparing ourselves with large multinational companies is a great stimulus and provides us with useful insights to improve from different points of view,&#8221; said <strong>Fabio Ceccarani<\/strong>, CEO of Simonelli Group. &#8220;We are proud to have won the Italian award and to be among the four European finalists together with big players in the chemical, furniture and automotive industries. This competition focuses on <strong>Digital Strategy Innovation<\/strong> and <strong>Deployment Top-down &#038; Bottom-up<\/strong>, or how organizations align distributed activities and knowledge to achieve common strategic goals.
