Simonelli Group is among the top 100 most sustainable Italian companies. The Sustainability Award, sponsored by Credit Suisse and Kon Group and Forbes media partner, is an important recognition reserved for those Italian companies that have distinguished themselves in facing the challenges of the climate emergency, transforming it into an opportunity to express innovation and activate the best energies in the country.
The Sustainability Award ceremony was held last October 11 at the East End Studios – Studio 90 in Milan in which the CEO of Simonelli Group participated. “For more than 10 years we have undertaken a concrete reflection on the concept of sustainability and in particular on reducing the environmental impact of the company and our products”-said Fabio Ceccarani, CEO of Simonelli Group. “The company has set the goal of becoming totally green by 2025 through the upgrading of its photovoltaic system and activities aimed at reducing energy consumption. We have also worked on reducing the environmental impact of our products using the standardized methodology Life Cycle Assessmentwhich has enabled us to lower the CO2 emissions during the entire life cycle of our machines by 23 percent – compared to previous models. In addition, we have developed technologies aimed at recovering waste energy to reduce energy consumption by more than 35 percent.
The Sustainability Award (aimed at Italian companies with a turnover between euro 10 and 600 million) aims to recognize the value of companies that have distinguished themselves for sustainable development, social responsibility and respect for the environment. Forbes Italy, media partner of the award, published the entire list of the Top 100 most sustainable Italian companies. The selection of companies took place in two stages to then draw up the final ranking of the TOP#100 business experiences that have brought innovation to their sector while implementing sustainability-oriented behavior. Although there is still a lack of a single European regulation, rating agencies have developed tools to measure the sustainability of companies through environmental, social and governance (ESG) parameters with precise methodologies: the Score and ESG ratings, on the basis of which the companies participating in the Sustainability Award were evaluated.
