Simonelli Group opens its new campus and launches Engaging Talks, cultural, economic and social themed meetings with outstanding guests
On Wednesday, January 25, the new Simonelli Group Campus in Belforte del Chienti was inaugurated with an event entitled “The Good Enterprise. Ideas and projects, community and environment, research and technology.”
The inaugural event is the first in a series of talks that will be hosted on campus as part of a format, Engaging Talks, which will feature from time to time contributions from leading personalities in different cultural fields esectors of business and will be open to the local area. More than 80 guests were invited to the first day-between local companies, suppliers, universities, institutions, and public and private entities-to whom the new spaces were presented and the principles that guided Simonelli Group in the creation of its Campus were explained.
The keynote address was given by Antonio CalabrĂ² (Pirelli’s Head of Institutional Affairs,SeniorAdvisor Culture and Director of the Pirelli Foundation), who touched on the themes of the new challenges companies are facing and the related resources they can recruit to respond innovatively andconvincingly to a rapidly changing society and economic model.
This was followed by a round table discussion-moderated by RAI journalist Guido Maurino-on the topic of the role of universities, businesses and institutions in the development of the territory, which was attended by the Rector of the Marche Polytechnic University, Prof. Gianluca Gregori, the Rector of the University of Camerino, Prof. Claudio Pettinari, the Rector of the University of Macerata, Prof. John McCourt, Istao President, Prof. Mario Baldassarri and the President of the I Permanent Council Commission of the Marche Regional Council, Renzo Marinelli.
Ermete Realacci (Honorary President of Legambiente, Founder and President of Symbola) concluded the proceedings, stressing that the environment should be understood as an opportunity for competitiveness and a concrete opportunity for the growth of business, the territory and the Italian system.
The Simonelli Group Campus is a 1,000-square-meter multidisciplinary space dedicated to research, training, open innovation, and business culture, which aims to act as a stimulus for the growth of the area and its community. A physical place with a strong social and ethical vocation divided into distinct areas designated for Innovation, Training, Networking, and Research. Within the Campus, there are classrooms equipped for conducting specialized courses specifically on coffee (infusion systems, milk, water), as well as traditional and digital management training courses(webinars, podcasts, e-learning) and a large laboratory area dedicated to scientific research applied to coffee. The latter forms the heart of the RICH (Research and Innovation Coffee Hub) project, the research center created in 2016 in collaboration with the University of Camerino to carry out scientific studies on coffee and its chemical and physical properties. The Campus also includes an experiential area, dedicated to meetings and networking, open to companies, institutions and schools, where doing business and doing culture can find a synthesis in continuous elaboration.
This new structure represents for Simonelli Group a further step toward a greater presence in the territory, within which to strengthen not only its industrial identity, but also its innovative, social and sustainable identity. A “open company” convinced that in order to create value and strengthen its competitiveness in the markets, it is no longer sufficient to rely solely on internal ideas and resources, but it is necessary to resort to tools and skills that come from external, varied and synergistic sources .Simonelli Group is committed to this path of growth by strengthening its dedication to the territory that has always distinguished it. A commitment that today the company reaffirms with the inauguration of its Campus in Belforte del Chienti, in the heart of the district where in 1936 everything began and from where it intends to continue its path towards international markets, keeping unaltered the strong bond that binds it to the local community.
