In a year of severe uncertainty, Simonelli Group has completed a major infrastructure investment that enables the company to provide greater flexibility and speed of response to customers while at the same time further digitizing its production lines, logistics and warehouse.
It is an “ambitious and courageous project,” says Mauro Parrini, COO Simonelli Group, “that strongly contributes to putting the customer more and more at the center of the value chain. The operation began about two years ago’ with the goal of analyzing a perfectly functioning production process that was the subject of case studies and recreating and rethinking it in relation to the customer.”
The project, being fine-tuned just in these last days of the year, also includes a new ERP within it and is already yielding its first results with a pushed digitization of both production lines and logistics. “Even in the warehouse,” Parrini continues, “the staff is equipped with tablets and a new WMS system has been implemented that guides people in the picking phase (withdrawals) of components needed for production or finished products needed to set up one. With this new project we also managed to optimize space and greatly reduce the already low probability of errors. And already in the coming weeks our partners will also be able to benefit from the advantages of this new infrastructure.”
So Simonelli Group profoundly changes the way it works to meet the challenges of the future. “Two years ago we had the courage to rethink and replace a perfectly functioning and officially recognized system in order to prepare for the new challenges of the future. Today we are ready.” – Parrini emphasizes. “This is how in Simonelli Group we live, apply and cultivate the value of innovation every day.”
