Youth Academy is landing in Malaysia (Selangor and Kuala Lumpur), Middle East (Dubai) and UK (London), bringing a structured approach to coffee education, without stopping to enjoy it.
Youth Academy is the educational program by Simonelli Group that empowers young people by building skills, confidence and leadership through training, mentorship and hands-on experience. It offers 6 scholarships that provide access to the SCA Coffee Skills Program, supporting the growth of future professionals in the coffee industry.
Who it’s for
This program is designed for young people aged 18-30 who like coffee with a plan. People who are curious, detail‑oriented, and not afraid of a scale, a timer, or a question that starts with “why.” You don’t need to know everything already. You just need to be willing to practice, repeat, and improve, possibly more than once. Think less talent show, more training ground.
How it works
Youth Academy follows a structured learning path based on the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Coffee Skills Program, combining theory, practice, and a healthy amount of repetition.
Participants will take part in:
- Barista Skills (Foundation, Intermediate and Professional)
- Sensory Skills (Foundation)
- Brewing (Foundation)
- Green Coffee (Foundation)
- Roasting (Foundation)
Every module is designed to build solid technical foundations, focusing on accuracy, consistency, and understanding cause and effect. Coffee here is not mystical. It’s measurable.
Why participate
Because “I think it tastes better” is not a method. Youth Academy helps you replace opinions with reasoning and habits with skills. You’ll learn how to make decisions based on data, sensory alignment, and repeatable processes—skills that last longer than trends.
Because you will obtain SCA certifications, valid for earning credits towards the SCA Coffee Diploma, a concrete value you can invest in your professional future.
How to apply
It’s simple:
- Go to Coffee Knowledge Hub website and create your account
- Fill out the application form by June 7th, 2026 for the Malaysia edition, by June 14th, 2026 for the UK edition or by June 21st, 2026 for the UAE edition
