Corporate 4 May 2022

Belforte del Chienti, May 4, 2022 – TheTolentino Tennis Association and Simonelli Grouppresented this morning Wheelchair Tennis (wheelchair tennis, ed.), an innovative and unique project in the region. These are tennis courses dedicated to the disabled and taught by professional trainers specifically trained for this type of activity. The courses will culminate in a final tournament.
Wheelchair Tennisis a project conceived by President Marco Sposetti’s Tolentino Tennis Association and Simonelli Group with the goal of creating an opportunity for inclusivity in sports. Wheelchair Tennis, in fact, is one of the fastest growing wheelchair sports in the world with one key rule: players are allowed to let the ball bounce twice.

“Innovation, business and territory are among the most valuable assets Simonelli Group invests in, aware that territory is that area in which to create and spread well-being and growth,” said Manuela Feliziani of Simonelli Group’s Sustainability Team. “Besides being an innovative project because it is the first of its kind in the Marche region, Wheelchair Tennisfully meets the criteria of inclusiveness, youth and equal opportunities through which we define the distribution of investments for the growth and welfare of the territory. This project, in fact, allows everyone to take full advantage of Tolentino’s brand new tennis center and, above all, to be able to learn and practice a sport on the rise. In order to enable sports activity, professional and specific equipment has been purchased that guarantees playing in total safety, and ‘Wheelchair tennis’ training courses have been organized for optimal preparation by the professional coaches involved.”
Being sustainable requires courage, but also an awareness of the return on the value that is distributed in terms of territorial growth, well-being and quality of life. “The culture of innovation, environmental protection and sustainability have been part of the company’s ‘DNA’ for many years,” explains Nando Ottavi, President of Simonelli Group. “Ours is a company devoted to the long term, growth and innovation; this is why Simonelli Group’s development cannot disregard the growth and welfare of the territory in which it operates. Collaborating with associations to invest together in innovative solutions to improve the quality of life andinclusion is definitely a choice that contributes to creating added value for our territory.”
The classes will be inaugurated on May 8 with a special event. Two weekly 90-minute practices will follow. Info and registration at the Tolentino Tennis Association secretariat(segreteria@tennistolentino.it – tel +39 351 6339716).
